John Underwood plays rhythm guitar in the band. Living in Reading, he has played alongside Hugh, Martin and Dave Harding in Whittakers Patent Remedy and countless other line-ups over many years.

As well as electric and acoustic guitars he also plays bass guitar. In addition John has taught these instruments for almost thirty years.

In common with the rest of the band, John exhibits a good sense of humour. He has wide musical tastes, and is keen to experience all genres of music.
